Contract types: how to add and use them

Contract types are useful to add another dimension to contracts. It makes it easier to find all contracts of a certain type, e.g. all contracts of the type ‘Non Disclosure Agreement’. To add a contract type, click on ‘Contract types’ under Settings in the main menu on the left side. This will give you an overview of all contract types already in your account. Click on the + New’ button in the upper right corner to add a contract type.


You will see the window below, where you have to give the contract type a name. The contract type can be assigned to a certain category. These categories can be created under Contracts by clicking on contract summary. To add a category, click on ‘Edit’. There you have to give the category a name and you can add items. Click on ‘Save’ and the category is successfully created.

Click on ‘Save’ in the ‘Create contract type’ window and the contract type is successfully created.

Contract types can be assigned to a contract via the contract type box when you edit a contract. Click on the green pencil icon to add contract types. Tick the boxes of the types you want to assign and click on ‘Save’.
