How to name and add extra information to a document version?

For whom?

Any user who is an admin, a team manager or a document owner in both the Lite and Professional license tier.

Why?

Editing the name and description of a document version gives you a clearer overview of changes made to certain documents outside of Contractify and facilitates a more efficient and user friendly document management in our software.

What and how?

Start by going to your “documents” page by clicking on documents in the menu.

You can now select the document for which you want to either upload a new version or edit the name and description of an existing document version.

You should be able to see different document versions on the right hand side of your screen as displayed on the printscreen below.

Once you hover your mouse over the versions, a small task bar appears.

Click on the pencil to edit the version name and/or to add extra information to this document version.

Don’t forget to save your changes!

The new name of your document version will now be visible in your overview.

Hover your mouse over this version again and click on the information button to see the description you added to your document version as well as additional document information.

You have now successfully edited your document versions by naming them and adding a description.
