When you are asked to sign a file in Contractify, you will receive an email containing the file and the option to sign it directly. This article walks you through the signing process step by step.

Step 1: Open the signing request

You will receive an email containing the filethat needs to be signed. From this email you can proceed to sign the document immediately.

If a legal statement has been configured in the settings, this is where you will need to copy and paste it before proceeding.

Step 3: Verify your identity

Contractify supports different signing methods. In this example, we use email verification. Enter your email address and check your inbox for a one-time password. Enter the confirmation code to complete the signing process.

Once the code is accepted, your document is signed.

Note on quick signing

Quick signing is not supported for all signing methods. When certain methods are used, the signer will need to go through the signing flow separately for each required signature. For example, if you need to sign a document in five different places, you will need to complete the flow five times.

The signing methods for which this applies are:

  • Manual signing + eID

  • Itsme

  • Signing using certain types of eID card readers

Regarding eID card readers specifically: a "transparent" eID card reader is required — this means a card reader without a keypad. If the signer uses a card reader with a keypad, they will be prompted to place each signature individually.
